Description
Chromic Gut Suture, Brown, Size 6-0, 1" x 27", with TF Needle is an absorbable surgical suture derived from purified collagen taken from the serosal layer of beef or the submucosal layer of sheep intestines. This natural suture material is treated with chromic salts to extend its tensile strength and reduce tissue reactivity.
The suture maintains approximately 50% of its original tensile strength for 10 to 14 days post-implantation. Due to its absorbable nature, the suture eliminates the need for removal and is particularly useful in rapidly healing tissues, such as those in the gastrointestinal tract or in gynecologic procedures.
The monofilament construction of Chromic Gut Suture ensures minimal tissue drag and good knot security. The brown color enhances visibility in tissues during surgical procedures. The TF (Taper Point) needle is designed to allow smooth passage through soft tissues without cutting, reducing trauma during penetration.
